The Harlequin Ladybird Survey is part of the broader UK Ladybird Survey. The latter is a collaboration between the University of Cambridge, Anglia Ruskin University and the Biological Records Centre (part of the Centre for Ecology and Hydology - CEH).

The project is sponsored by Defra, the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC) and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee (JNCC) and was initiated through the NBN Trust under its contract with Defra. We are grateful to the Natural History Museum, London / English Nature partnership, Buglife, the Royal Entomological Society, the Wildlife Trusts and the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds for their advice and assistance with particular aspects of the project.
